Using Timer:
Timer is relatively straightforward to use. Select “New Timer” from the File menu to create a new timer, and “Close Timer” to close the top (selected) timer. A maximum of four timers are available in version 4.2.
The “Start” button resets the timer and begins counting up. The “Pause” button temporarily stops the timer, and the “Resume” button restarts a paused timer without resetting it.
Timer’s options are accessible through the “Configure...” button. The name of a timer’s window can be changed in the “Name” field. This feature is provided because “GEnie Download”, for example, is a lot easier to decipher than “Timer #1” (the window’s default name). To set the countdown timer, check “Countdown Timer On” and set the time in the “Hrs.”, “Mins.”, and “Secs.” fields. When the countdown timer is on, a time bar appears in the timer window. Time Elapsed is represented by the dark gray portion, and Time Remaining is represented by the light gray portion. This feature makes the visualization of how much time is left much easier.
When the time has elapsed on a timer, a digitized voice (mine) announces “Timer (timer number) has elapsed.” If Timer is in the background, the number of the timer that elapsed flashes in the menu bar. Bring Timer to the foreground to stop the flashing.
The Window menu (Timer 4.2a and later) allows you to select a timer using menus and keyboard equivalents.
Users of Timer 3.5a or earlier:
On line help, “looping around”, and saving of preferences are not supported in Timer 4.1a.
Timer Information:
Timer 4.1 has a new reduced price: $5 shareware. You are required to register Timer after a 30 day trial period. Unregistered copies must be deleted after the 30 day trial period. THINK Pascal source code is available for $20 U.S. Mail, $15 AOL, GEnie, or Internet mail. Please pay me for my considerable effort; of 300 plus downloads of previous versions of Timer, I recieved a grand total of nothing.

Special Bonus: Included in this archive is GraphMan 2.1, a useless freeware program that makes your Mac look like it’s doing something terribly important, impressing your friends, if they happen to be extremely easily impressed. As does Timer, it requires color QuickDraw and System 7. Also included is Bragging Rights, a small app that tells you more than you ever wanted to know about your Mac.
Version History, 4.0 to 4.2
4.0a: Initial rewritten, unreleased version.
4.1a: Fixed minor cosmetic bugs, added Nameable Window feature
4.1b: Fixed evil little bug that disabled the Apple menu, except the “About...” item.
4.2a: Added Window menu.
MQI makes no warranties, expressed or implied, as to the functionality of Timer or GraphMan. MQI cannot be held responsible if Timer causes your computer to crash (rather unlikely), corrupts your data (laughingly unlikely), or damages your hardware (obscenely unlikely). Use at your own (admittedly nonexistant) risk.
